The Support Society for the International Academy
for Human Sciences and Culture was founded in 1994 during the International Year of the Family to further the family as a place of encounter, of learning and of solidarity among generations. The Support Society came into being with the hope and aspiration that the spirit of the Psychology of the Capacity to Know and to Love can make a contribution in this field and progress in the service of humanity.

The Vision of the Support Society

The vision and purpose of the Support Society is to contribute to cultural development; to find solutions to the day-to-day wars, large and small, in all fields of life; and to help alleviate the associated suffering within families, among peoples and between nations, thus putting the idea of peace into action.

The idea of peace includes the consciousness of the oneness of humanity in its diversity. The Support Society therefore rejects any form of racism, nationalism and fundamentalism in the knowledge that only through appreciation of the different cultures, nations and religions can peace and unity be achieved.

Guiding Principles

The International Academy and its Support Society are inspired by three guiding principles:

·    The interdisciplinary principle
Many disciplines and sciences are represented in the Academy. In order to develop a new image of man and a new understanding of science that does optimal justice to reality and to the complex nature of man, it is necessary to include all the fields of science in dialogue.

·    The intercultural principle
The ability to learn from different cultures and to appreciate them as a valuable enrichment is the foundation of a peaceful world culture.

·    The interreligious principle
In working towards peace it is necessary that the world religions cooperate with one another. It is time to overcome narrow minded prejudice and to recognize that the ethics of all religions are in harmony. Human encounter should not be characterized by fanaticism and hate, but rather, by an attitude of esteem and friendship. Transcendence manifests itself in love.
