Since 1988 – 38 Years of Experience and Service
International Academy for Human Sciences and Culture and its institutes – Psychological Institute for Peace Research and Peace Education and Psychological Counseling and Research Institute for Sexuality, Marriage and Family, both founded in 1988 – offer courses, further education courses and seminars, as well as counselling and psychotherapy to lay people and professionals. The Academy also offers holistic education and training in pedagogy, peace education, psychology, peace studies, psychology and law, counselling and psychotherapy. The courses emphasise the fundamental importance of love in all areas of life and for the construction of a humane society. The Psychology of the Capacity to Know and to Love, which the Academy represents, contributes to the joy of learning, strengthens human relationships and shows ways to resolve conflicts and achieve peace.

The Academy and its Support Association are inspired by three guiding principles:
1. The Interdisciplinary Principle
The Academy brings together a wide range of disciplines and fields of knowledge. To develop a new conception of the human being and a new understanding of science that do justice to the reality of human existence, dialogue across all disciplines is essential.
2. The Intercultural Principle
The willingness to learn from different cultures and to value them as an enrichment is the foundation of a peaceful world culture.
3. The Interreligious Principle
Working towards peace requires the world’s religions to cooperate with one another. It is time to overcome narrow-minded prejudice and to recognise that the ethics of all religions are in harmony. Human encounters should be shaped not by fanaticism, mutual contempt and arrogance, but by an attitude of esteem and friendship. Transcendence manifests itself in love.

The logo of the International Academy for Human Sciences and Culture depicts the earth globe held aloft within an all-encompassing and protecting heart, which, through the vision and hope of a child, is hoisted into the skies. It symbolises the reality of the world, one in body and spirit. The meridians represent a connective net of relationship which embraces the globe.
The vision of the Academy is that this reality be raised in the interest of the children of the world, that they may live, learn and develop in a secure environment of peace. The aspiration is to promote the ability to think with love and to love with intelligence, to relate to others sincerely, and to contribute to a society that is just and humane.
A person’s greatness and happiness are measured by their capacity to love: the ability to relate to others and to take an active interest in events large and small in every area of life.
At the International Academy for Human Sciences and Culture, with its twin psychology institutes – the Psychological Institute for Peace Research and Peace Education and the Psychological Counselling and Research Institute for Sexuality, Marriage and Family – the Psychology of the Capacity to Know and to Love forms the foundation for research, psychological counselling and therapy, and training.
This psychology emphasises and explores the fundamental importance of love in every aspect of life. Its practical aim is always to provide a loving framework, to recognise and overcome the obstacles that limit the capacity to know and to love, and at the same time to strengthen the qualities that help people become more aware and mentally alert, psychologically stronger and more resilient, and better able to relate to others and to love.
Guided by the Psychology of the Capacity to Know and to Love, the Academy develops new methods that contribute to a culture of dialogue, learning and peace. Peace is a central theme at every level: the individual, the family, social institutions, education and health care, and international and intercultural coexistence.
The foundation of peace is love, which guarantees justice, humanity, human rights and a spirit of universal cooperation.
